Photoshop Elements
Keyboard Shortcuts
I Use Most...
command* + zero- fits the image on the screen
h - hand tool
z - zoom tool (click to zoom in, or click while holding alt to zoom out)
Command* + z - undo
tab- hides pallets so you can see what you're doing better
Commands I Use When Working with Layer Masks:
b - selects brush
[ - decreases brush size
] - increases brush size
shift + [ - decreases brush softness
shift + ] - increases brush softness
x- switches between foreground and background colors
Alt + Shift when you click on an an adjustment layer turns it red so you can see what you're adjusting
Alt + Click shows you in black and white what you've painted
Command + Option + Shift + E - Stamp Visible!! This creates a new layer with all your visible edits on it, so if you need to re-sharpen or do a vingette at the end (requiring a pixel layer- not an adjustment layer) you can do so without having to flatten your image. If you want to go back and change an underlying layer just delete the top pixel layer to edit. *Stamp visible is only available through the shortcut... it's not a menu command! (*If you have a PC, the shortcut is Control + Alt + Shift + E)
*These shortcuts are for a mac, if you have a PC then instead of pushing "command" you push "control".
