Custom Art Canvases
Want to make your own custom
art pieces? The one I make in this tutorial is for a nursery,
but you can change the shapes and materials to make a grown
up piece as well. Perhaps using the first letter of your last
name, or a tree or floral silhouette.

Supplies:
Coordinating scrapbook papers OR fabric
Canvases
Free-hand designs OR printed clip art
Carbon Paper
Mod Podge (referred to below as MP)
Tip: In hind sight,
I think fabric would be more ideal for at least the
background pieces, since they're larger, because large
pieces of paper are easy to scuff when drying.
Directions:
Using some blank paper,
draw out the design you want for your canvases. You may
free-hand it, or print clip art from the internet and
trace it.

Using some carbon
paper, trace the design to your scrapbook paper, to give
you a guideline to use when cutting out the
pieces.

Carefully cut out all
of your paper or fabric pieces.
Modpodge the papers to
your canvases. If you're not familiar with Mod Podge
techniques, click HERE.
Hang them up and enjoy!

Optional
Variations: This project could easily be done with
abstract designs. If you've made some linens in the room
you may want to use the coordinating fabric to make your
artwork.
Last, if you decided to
do this project yourself, please send me a photo of it
with your name and what state you're from! I've recently
decided to start featuring my readers' finished results.
