Lining a Clippie or Barette for
Hair Bows & More for Little Girls

When attaching any of the boutique hair-bows to a clippie or barrette,
you'll need to line it first with a piece of ribbon...

Supplies:
   3/8" Ribbon
   Hair Clippy
Optional: All Glass Aquarium Sealant (for a non-slip strip)... available at Petco & WalMart

arrow_purplebrown TEXTIf you're using the little metal clips, as shown, cut your ribbon to a length of 3 1/4 inches. If you're using a barrette, cut your ribbon so it's long enough to tuck around both edges of the barrette just a bit.

arrow_purplebrown TEXTOptional: if you want to have a non-slip strip inside the barrette, for fine hair, apply a strip of silicone (All Glass Aquarium Sealant) to the first 1 1/4 inches of your ribbon, and let it dry completely before proceeding... at least 20 minutes.

arrow_purplebrown TEXTUsing a hot glue gun, apply a dab of glue to the edge of the ribbon (not the clippie) and attach it to the underside of one end. (Make sure that if you have a non-slip silicone strip on the ribbon, it's in the right place to land on the inside of your barrette when you fold the ribbon around to line the rest of it.) Press it to firmly attach.

arrow_purplebrown TEXTAlright! Now you're ready to jazz it up.
