"For Children" Projects
Boo Boo
Bear... Make
little Boo Boo Bags with a slushy cold pack
inside (easy to make yourself) and a cuddly
critter on the outside that are sure to
brighten a little one's day when they have a
boo boo! (Alternative to embroidery is also
given.)
DIY Wall
Decals... If you love
the look of vinyl lettering, you're going to
love this! Here's how to make your own
custom wall decals! And they peel off when
you're ready to take them down. You're gonna
love it!
Artwork Clippie
Board...
Make your
own adorable artwork drying & display
board for your children's masterpieces!
Wall
Canvases... Want to
make your own wall art? A little scrapbook
paper + modpodge on a canvas does the trick.
Here's how! (This wall art is done for a
nursery but you could easily change the
shapes to perhaps a tree or floral
silhouette to make a grown-up piece as
well!)
Treasure
Chest...
Do you have
a little one who is always finding special
treasures? Here's a special box you can make
just for him to keep his special finds
inside of!
Sassy
Shelves... Here's
how you can jazz up some plain 'ol shelves
to make them a super cute feature in a room!
RAIN GUTTER
SHELVING! This is one
of my all time favorite projects! These are
GREAT bookshelves for children's rooms or
class rooms, and affordable too! Check it
out!!! Love it!!!

Home
Brews... Recipes for play
dough, clay, silly putty, finger paints,
water colors, paper mache, chalkboard paint.
Freezer Paper
Stenciling... Just
look at how a freezer paper stenciled tiger
can brighten a little boy's day, taking his
sweat pants from drab to fab! This is a
great technique to personalize plain clothes
or fabric, and a great alternative to
embroidery. Want to know more? Yep, I
thought so.
Hacky
Sacks... This is
a great use for all those socks missing a
mate, or the foot portion of socks that you
already cut up to make Baby Legs
or
the
Best Ever Hot/Cold
Packs!
How to add an adjustable waist to most any pair of pants!
Hacky Sack
Toss! Our kids
love this game; here's how to make your
own!
Fleece Ear Flap
Hats
These can
be made plain, with pom poms, animal eyes or
ears.
"No Sweat" Sweat
Pants!... Want to
make some pajama pants or sweat pants
without buying a store pattern? This goes
for kids and adults too!
Baby
Legs...
*Minimal Sewing* Arm/leg warmers for kids-
great to wear w/ t-shirts in cold weather.
Best of all, they'll take you all of about 5
minutes to make!
Boutique Hair Bows &
Bow Holder...
Want some
boutique bows for a little girl in your
life? They're super simple to make.
DIY Costumes!
Adorable
costumes you can make yourself! Great for
dress-up box, and for Halloween.
Flat Top Sheet
for Toddler Beds... This is
quicker than quick and easier than easy. You
can make the sheets large enough to tuck
under the toddler bed so they actually stay
in place (store-bought toddler sheets don't
measure up in this area!).
Pillow
Case...
(for
toddler beds- don't give pillows to
babies!)While you're at it here's a quick
pillow case to match.
Rag
Quilt... This is
the quilt that anyone can make! I won't say
it's quick (is ANY quilt quick?!), but it IS
very doable. If you're at all intimidated by
making traditional quilts, this is the quilt
to make! It's great for baby quilts and
adult quilts too.
Quiet
Square.... Here's
a five minute project for ya! This is a
quiet square... it has a basic maze sewn on
it (two lines in this case for a baby, but
could be made more elaborate for older
children) and a marble inside the square.
The child can maneuver the marble through
the square, and it is a handy/non-bulky
"quiet toy" to keep in your purse or diaper
bag.
